Putnam County Sheriff Kevin J. McConville reports the arrest of Kevin Willis, a 56-year-old Town of Southeast, NY man, on charges of felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, and misdemeanor Criminal Possession of Weapon in the Fourth Degree, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, and Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree.
On October 18, 2024, at approximately 3:45 PM, members of the Narcotics Enforcement Unit took Willis into custody in the Town of Southeast. The arrest followed a brief investigation into threatening messages Willis sent to another party. While questioning him, investigators learned that he was prohibited from owning firearms due to a prior felony conviction but possessed both a firearm and narcotics. The Honorable Judge Folchetti issued a search warrant for Willis' home, which led to the recovery of a loaded rifle, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia. Additionally, Willis had an outstanding warrant from the Danbury Police Department.
He was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court and released on his own recognizance. He later turned himself into the Danbury Police Department. An order of protection was issued for the victim.
