Sheriff Kevin J. McConville is pleased to announce the addition of two new Correction Officers to the staff of the Putnam County Correctional Facility.
Samantha Mastropietro and Jake Dushaj graduated on November 14, 2024, from the Dutchess County Correctional Academy in Poughkeepsie. Mastropietro and Dushaj along with 17 other correction officers from Dutchess, Ulster and Columbia Counties took part in an 8-week program where they received instruction in correctional procedures, crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques, physical fitness, defensive tactics and firearms. Officer Dushaj was awarded the "Top Shot" for marksmanship skills. Upon graduation, these officers have been assigned to training officers where they will learn the procedures and operations of the Putnam County Correctional Facility. Sheriff McConville congratulated them on their graduation and wished them a successful career.
