The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office reports that a missing person investigation has concluded with the discovery of a deceased individual.
On January 6, 2026, at approximately 5:47 p.m., the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing person. Deputies and investigators conducted follow-up efforts in an attempt to locate the individual.
On January 7, 2026, at approximately 8:40 a.m., the body of an individual was discovered in a wooded area in the vicinity of Eastview Court, within the Village of Brewster, New York
At this time, the identity of the individual is being withheld pending proper notification of family members. The cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
Based on the information available at this time, there is no indication of foul play, and the incident appears to be isolated. However, the investigation remains ongoing and is being handled by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
