Connecticut Man Arrested on Felony Drug Charges After Southeast Traffic Stop

Sheriff Brian Hess reports the arrest of Frederick Douglass Wolfolk, 33, of Danbury, Connecticut, following a traffic stop during which deputies recovered cocaine, oxycodone, marijuana, and narcotics distribution materials from the vehicle.

On July 7, 2026, at approximately 1:05 a.m., Deputy Joseph Coletti and Deputy Daniel Cetra were conducting traffic enforcement on Interstate 84 West in the Town of Southeast when they observed a vehicle commit multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and identified Frederick Douglass Wolfolk as the driver. Two passengers were also inside the vehicle.

Deputies determined that Wolfolk’s driver’s license was suspended. During the investigation, deputies recovered approximately 7.5 grams of cocaine, a quantity of oxycodone tablets, multiple quantities of marijuana, a digital scale, packaging materials, a vacuum-sealing device, and other items commonly used in the packaging and distribution of illegal narcotics.

Wolfolk was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for processing. Members of the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit assisted with the investigation.

Wolfolk was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Intent to Sell) – Class B Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug in the Fourth Degree – Class C Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree – Class A Misdemeanor
  • Two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree – Class A Misdemeanors
  • Unlawful Possession of Cannabis
  • Aggravated Unlicensed Operation
  • Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law infractions

Wolfolk was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court and released on his own recognizance.

All suspects mentioned in this media release are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
