The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with our local law enforcement partners, investigated a threat involving George Fischer Middle School that was received via the school’s anonymous alerts email.

At this time, there is no information to indicate that the threat was credible.

Out of an abundance of caution, George Fischer Middle School was placed on a two-hour delay while law enforcement conducted an investigation and cleared the building. The school has since been cleared and there is no threat to students or staff.

The safety of students, staff, and the community is our top priority.
