Sheriff Brian Hess announces the following arrest:
On April 29, 2026, at approximately 9:01 PM, members of the Sheriff’s Office Conditions Unit conducted a traffic stop on Route 6 in the Town of Carmel. During the stop, deputies recovered approximately 75 grams of cocaine. A 32-year-old female from Carmel and a 41-year-old male from Peekskill, NY were taken into custody. The male was also found to be in possession of an electronic stun gun.
Both subjects were charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (Narcotic Drug – Intent to Sell)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (Narcotic Drug)
The male was additionally charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree
The female was released on her own recognizance with electronic monitoring. The male was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility.
