Business Site Assessment
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office offers active shooter preparedness training at no cost to hospitals, schools, houses of worship, and businesses throughout Putnam County. This program is designed to help organizations assess risks, strengthen security practices, and prepare staff to respond effectively during emergency situations.
As part of this program, the Sheriff’s Office can conduct a site assessment to evaluate the physical security of an establishment and provide recommendations to enhance existing safety measures. The training also addresses management-level considerations, emergency planning, and practical response strategies for employees, with the goal of improving preparedness and coordination during critical incidents.
“We strongly encourage businesses and organizations throughout Putnam County to take advantage of this free service,” said Sheriff Brian Hess. “Advance planning and preparation can help staff respond more effectively during an emergency and may reduce the potential impact of a critical incident.”
