Bicyclist in Critical Condition Following Route 9 Collision in Philipstown

On June 22, 2026, at approximately 10:29 a.m., members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Route 9 and Horton Road in the Town of Philipstown for a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist and a pickup truck.

The bicyclist, identified as Nelson Guerrero, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the North Highlands Fire Department, where he was subsequently airlifted to Westchester Medical Center for treatment, where he remains in critical condition.

The operator of the pickup truck, identified as Richard Nairn, remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the investigation.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision with assistance from the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.

The investigation remains ongoing. Additional information may be released as it becomes available.

All suspects mentioned in this media release are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
