On December 15, 2024, at approximately 4:00 AM, a deputy observed a vehicle driving southbound on I-684 near exit 10 that was unable to maintain its lane of traffic. Concerned about the erratic driving, the deputy initiated a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Dimas Minero Argueta, a 36-year-old resident of Norwalk, CT, was found to be intoxicated.

When the deputy attempted to place Argueta under arrest for driving while intoxicated (DWI), he began to violently resist. In addition to the DWI charge, Argueta was also charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration. He received several tickets for additional offenses, including driving on the shoulder, moving from lane unsafely, consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, and refusal to take a breath test.

After being processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility, Argueta was issued an appearance ticket and released due to bail reform policies. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Southeast Court for a future court date..

On December 16, at approximately 7:45 AM, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Lake Drive in Putnam Valley in response to a noise complaint. Upon arrival, the deputies observed a large number of people inside the home and loud music emanating from the basement. It was determined that the house was being rented out as an Airbnb, and a DJ was on site playing music.

This was not the first complaint regarding noise from this location; a deputy had responded to the house overnight for the same issue. At that time, the occupants were warned and instructed to turn off the music, which they complied with temporarily. However, deputies learned that the 911 Center had received multiple calls about loud music and parking issues at this address over the past two days.

As a result of the ongoing disturbances, an appearance ticket was issued to the DJ, identified as 25-year-old Jesus Oliveras-Sosa from Manhattan. He was cited for a violation of the town code concerning unreasonably loud, disturbing, or unnecessary noise.
