Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the promotion of Glen T. Jackson to the rank of Senior Investigator in the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Senior Investigator Jackson, a 15 year veteran with the Sheriff’s Office was promoted to his new rank by Sheriff Smith on September 28, 2013.
He started his career as a corrections officer at the Putnam County Correctional Facility. He later became a deputy sheriff working as a uniformed deputy assigned to the Patrol Division. Interested in the youth of Putnam County, Senior Investigator Jackson later served as a school resource officer assigned to Brewster High School. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in October of 2011 where he supervised the daily activities of patrol deputies assigned to his squad.
In his new position, Senior Investigator Jackson is assigned to the department’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and supervises the Identification and Forensics Unit.
Sheriff Smith described Senior Investigator Jackson as being a hard-working, hands-on type of leader. He went on to say, “Senior Investigator Jackson was selected from an exceptional group of candidates. Over the years he has displayed his leadership skills in every assignment he has had. As a school resource officer, educators, parents and students alike related well to him. As a patrol supervisor, Glen had gained the respect of his subordinates by sharing his knowledge with them as they carried out their assigned tasks. Recognizing these traits, we are confident that Senior Investigator Jackson will help guide our outstanding Identification and Forensics Unit to an even higher level,” concluded the Sheriff.
