Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith is inviting merchants and those affiliated with area banking institutions to a half-day seminar entitled, “Bank Robbery - Crimes Against Financial Institutions.”
Law enforcement officers will provide those in attendance with information, lead discussions, and answer questions concerning building security, robbery prevention and best practice protocols to follow during and after a robbery or other crime committed at a bank, credit union or retail business. Along with local law enforcement agencies, members from the New York State Police, FBI, United States Secret Service and banking officers will join in the training.
This vital training will take place on March 27, 2013 from 9AM to 12PM at the Putnam County Training and Operations Center, located at 112 Old Route 6 in Carmel. Those wishing to attend are asked to contact Ms. Elin Gardner at the Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation by calling (845) 225-8060. Light refreshments will be served.
“Putnam County has been the safest county in New York State and one of the safest counties in America.” said Sheriff Donald Smith. “By working together, we can continue to enjoy the outstanding quality of life that we have grown accustomed to. I look forward to seeing the participants at this upcoming seminar.” concluded the Sheriff.
