Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. reports the arrest of a 36-year-old Yorktown man on felony drug charges.
On May 20, 2018, at about 12:28 a.m., while on Patrol in Putnam Valley, Deputy Sheriff William Verrastro observed a vehicle stopped diagonally across Peekskill Hollow Road with its’ hazard lights on. The driver, Thomas V. Disieno, age 36, of Yorktown Heights told Deputy Verrastro that he had run out of gas. The deputy could smell marihuana coming from the car.
A computer check with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles revealed that Mr. Disieno’s driver’s license had been suspended.
Five vacuum sealed bags, containing over five pounds of alleged marihuana, along with 35 packages of alleged concentrated cannabis oil for use in vaping devices, were recovered from the car.
Mr. Disieno was charged with Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree, both Class D Felonies, in addition to several VTL charges.
Deputy Sheriff Deputy Sheriff Benjamin Levine assisted Deputy Verrastro at the scene.
