It's that time of year again! Parents are happy kids are returning to school, teachers are sad vacation is over, and commuters are upset that traffic has increased and the "big yellow things" are stopping at every single driveway. As we welcome students back to school this week we also welcome drivers to be on the lookout for those buses, as well as children crossing roads and walking to school.
Remember, it is the law to stop for buses displaying their red lights and stop signs. Not only will our Deputies be conducting patrols to ensure cars don't pass buses, but many of the school district's buses are now equipped with cameras that will automatically capture any vehicle that passes a bus stopped with red lights activated. You WILL receive a ticket if you pass a school bus!
