Vermont Man Charged With Unlicensed Operation
Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith announces the arrest of a Vermont man on a charge of unlicensed operation.
On February 1, 2014 at 8:17 a.m., while on patrol, Deputy Sheriff Bryan Suppa observed a property damage automobile accident on Route 22 in the Town of Southeast. Upon investigation, the deputy determined that one of the involved drivers, identified as Edward Mobilio, 51, of 729 Park Hill Road, Benson, Vermont had been driving while his privilege to operate a motor vehicle in the State of New York is suspended. The deputy arrested Mr. Mobilio and charged him with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and released after posting $250.00 cash bail pending a February 27, 2014 appearance in the Town of Southeast Justice Court to answer the charge.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
