Early this morning (10/4), we were made aware of a pattern of bomb threats occurring across New York State targeting Synagogues. The threats were sent via email and included vitriolic language.
Currently, all Intelligence Centers, Federal, State, and Local, have not identified any credible information, and the emails are actively being investigated.
The Sheriff's Office will remain in contact with our partners and keep you informed of any information we can share. Again, at this time, there is no credible or actionable information, and none of these threats have involved Putnam County. We are writing just to make you aware of the information and let you know that we are monitoring all informational sources.
