Sheriff Kevin J. McConville reports the arrest of a 13-year-old student in the Green Chimneys School District in the Town of Patterson after threatening emails were sent to the school.
On September 6, 2024, at approximately 10 pm, the Sheriff's Office was notified via the Threat Assessment Management (TAM) system by the school district of the emails.
An investigation was begun which included forensic computer analysis, and a suspect was quickly developed. The suspect was interviewed in the presence of their parents, and on September 11th, they were charged with one count of Making a Terroristic Threat, a class D felony and was issued an appearance ticket to report to Putnam County Probation.
