Shrub Oak Man Arrested for Drug Possession And Driving With a Suspended License

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. reports the arrest of a Shrub Oak man for drug possession and driving with a suspended driver’s license.

On April 22, 2019, at approximately 9:20 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Matthew Shelters observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on Wood Street, in the Town of Putnam Valley. Deputy Shelters initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. A check of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicle computer system revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Devin West, age 31, of Shrub Oak, had a suspended driver’s license. In addition, Mr. West was found to be in possession of Suboxone, for which he did not provide a prescription for. Mr. West was placed under arrest and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Mr. West was processed and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree (Misdemeanor), and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).

Mr. West was released on his own recognizance and an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court.
