Sheriff Reports Recent Arrests

Sheriff Kevin J. McConville reports the following arrests:

On April 4, 2024, a deputy was dispatched to a business in the Town of Southeast for a report of a burglary where an unknown person entered the building overnight and took a vehicle, a 2011 Chevy pick-up truck. Investigators were called in and the information on the stolen vehicle was broadcast to other police agencies. The vehicle was located unoccupied later that day in the Bronx and evidence was collected from it before turning it over to the owners. Over the course of the next year, investigators were able to develop a suspect, obtain an arrest warrant, and attempt to locate him. On April 16, 2025, investigators were informed that the suspect, Alex Morales, 32 years old from the Bronx, was arrested by New York City Probation Officers on the warrant. He was picked up by Sheriff's Office investigators and charged with one count each of Burglary in the Third Degree, Grand Larceny Third Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property Third Degree, all felonies. Morales was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court and was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility pending a future court appearance.

On April 5, 2025, investigators were advised of a suspicious subject who was attempting to purchase a vehicle valued at over $68,000 at a Town of Southeast car dealership and was attempting to conceal his true identity. On April 12, it was learned that the suspect had returned and was attempting to complete the sale using a fictitious name. Investigators responded and observed the suspect filling out paperwork using the fake name and took him into custody. 57-year-old David Koraca of Somers, NY was transported to the Sheriff's Office where he admitted to using a false name to conceal his identity. He was charged with one count of Attempted Grand Larceny in the 2nd degree, a class D felony, one count of Falsifying Business Records 2nd degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, both misdemeanors. Koraca was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court and remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility due to multiple prior felony convictions.
