Sheriff Kevin J. McConville reports the following DWI arrests over the weekend:
On April 5, 2024, at about 10:45 pm, a Deputy traveling northbound on Peekskill Hollow Rd in the Town of Putnam Valley was struck by a southbound vehicle that crossed over into his lane.
The Deputy sustained injuries to his eye and hand and was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the other vehicle, 42-year-old Jennifer Hunt, was observed to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. She was arrested and charged with felony Vehicular Assault 2nd degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree. She was also charged with misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated and the traffic infractions of Operating with a License Restriction, Failing to Keep Right, Moving from Lane Unsafely, Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, and Operating a Vehicle While Using a Mobile Phone.
Hunt was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and arraigned in the Town of Putnam Valley Court, where she was ROR to appear at a future court date.
On April 6th, at approximately 2:30 am, deputies observed a vehicle driving erratically, failing to maintain its lane on Danbury Road in the Town of Southeast.
A traffic stop was made, and the driver, 38-year-old Hector Buchyolos of Brewster, was observed to be intoxicated and failed multiple field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and transported to the Correctional Facility for processing, where he was charged with misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol content greater than .18%.
He was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Southeast Court for a future date.
On April 7th, at approximately 1:00 am, Putnam County 911 broadcast an alert for an erratic driver in the area of Route 22 and 311 in Patterson. A concerned citizen was following the vehicle. Deputies began looking for the suspect vehicle and were able to locate it westbound on Route 6 in Carmel. A traffic stop was initiated after observing the car swerve out of its lane. After failing field sobriety tests, the driver, 72-year-old Kathleen Hibbs of Wappingers Falls, was placed under arrest and transported to the Correctional Facility for processing.
She was charged with a misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated and a traffic infraction of Move from Lane Unsafely. She was released with an appearance ticket for a future court date in the Town of Carmel Court.
On April 7, at approximately 11:20 pm., deputies were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident on Tammany Hall Road in the Town of Patterson; a vehicle had traveled off the roadway and struck a mailbox. After interviewing the driver, 46-year-old Elizabeth DeLuca of Patterson, NY, and conducting field sobriety tests, she was placed under arrest. She was charged with misdemeanor DWI and Aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol content greater than .18%.
She was processed at the Correctional Facility and released with an appearance ticket returnable in the Town of Patterson Court.
