On June 25, 2024, at approximately 1:15 am, deputies observed a vehicle driven northbound on Route 22 near the I684 interchange with an obscured rear license plate. A traffic stop was made, and the driver, identified as Mathew Conti, 27 years old of Danbury, CT, was found to have a revoked NY driver's license from 2017. While interviewing Mr. Conti, a handgun was discovered inside the vehicle, which he had no permit to possess in New York State. He was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a class C felony, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree for the license suspension. Conti was arraigned in the Patterson Town Court and ROR'd to appear for a future court date.
On June 26 at approximately 8:40 am, a deputy was dispatched to the area of 4 Oscawana Lake Road in the Town of Putnam Valley for a two-car motor vehicle accident. While investigating the accident, the deputy learned that the operator of one of the vehicles, 46-year-old Scott McCullough of Mt. Vernon, had a suspended driver's license and that the vehicle had no insurance, registration, or inspection. The plates on the vehicle were also improper, as they belonged to a different car. Mr. McCullough was issued several traffic tickets for the Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was given an appearance ticket for the misdemeanor Aggravated Unlicensed Operation for the license suspensions returnable in the Town of Putnam Valley Court.
On June 26, at approximately 3:20 pm, deputies observed a subject drinking beer in public in the area of Gleneida Avenue and Fair Street in the Town of Carmel in violation of a town code. Deputies approached the subject, identified as Christopher Paulson, 51 years of age of Carmel, and learned that he had a bench warrant for Petit Larceny out of the Town of Carmel. Mr. Paulson was issued an appearance ticket for the Possession and Consumption of Alcohol in Public and was turned over to Carmel PD for the warrant.
