Sheriff Announces 2018 Boating Safety Class

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. announces that Boat Safety Classes will be held on April 14th and May 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services Building located at 110 Old Route 6 in the Town of Carmel. This class is required for persons over the age of 14 who wish to operate a personal watercraft and for persons between the ages of 10 and 18 who wish to operate a boat without adult supervision. The Sheriff’s Department is offering the courses free of charge. However, persons over 18 years of age must pay a $10.00 fee to New York State upon successful completion of the class to receive a certificate. The certificate is provided free of charge to persons under the age of 18 who complete the course.

Interested persons may register online at putnamsheriff.com by using the link for the Boat Safety Course registration page. All registrants will receive a confirmation response via email. A separate form must be completed for each registrant.
