Sheriff Kevin J. McConville is pleased to announce the graduation of Senior Investigator Corinne Pitt, a law enforcement veteran with over 20 years of experience, from the 291st session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
With its global reach, this world-renowned program brings together local, state, federal, and international law enforcement professionals to collaborate and improve policing practices globally, underscoring its significance and influence.
The 291st session included 253 men and women from across the U.S., representatives from 26 countries, and executives from federal civilian and military organizations. Less than 1% of law enforcement officers are selected for this program.
The FBI National Academy, in partnership with the University of Virginia, offers a comprehensive program that emphasizes academic excellence for its participants. Enrolled students can access undergraduate and graduate courses covering law, behavioral sciences, communication, leadership, wellness, and narcotics trafficking. Senior Investigator Pitt chose graduate-level courses and earned a UVA graduate certificate. In addition to academic rigor, the Academy requires nominees to demonstrate physical readiness through time trials and assessments before acceptance, ensuring they are prepared for the demanding fitness regimen that awaits. Throughout the ten-week program, participants engage in daily physical training sessions and face strenuous weekly fitness challenges, reinforcing the Academy's commitment to developing well-rounded leaders in law enforcement.
Beyond its professional benefits, the academy fosters a valuable global network. FBI National Academy graduates, including Senior Investigator Pitt, form enduring connections with law enforcement professionals, offering mutual support, guidance, and expertise. These connections often evolve into lifelong personal connections and friendships.
The Sheriff praised Senior Investigator Pitt for her distinguished service and thanked her family for enduring her absence during the 10-week training. "The whole Pitt family deserves our gratitude for their sacrifices and support," he said. Education and training are vital for any strong organization, and Senior Investigator Pitt will use her National Academy training to benefit Putnam County as she performs her duties daily."
