The Sheriff's Office is investigating several incidents that recently occurred where a suspect telephoned a resident and falsely identified himself as a Pastor from a local church in Carmel. The suspect asked the individual to send gift cards via cellphone by taking photos of the ID numbers.
Sheriff McConville would like to remind everyone that if you are not sure of the person calling, contact the police right away at (845) 225-4300.
To be safe, never give out any personal or financial information to anyone unknown to you.
