Rockland Man Charged With Unlicensed Operation

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Rockland County man on a charge of unlicensed operation.

On December 19, 2016 at 8:46 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Benjamin Levine stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Route 9D in the Town of Philipstown. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Michael R. Reid, 24, of 16 Central Drive, Stony Point, New York held a suspended license. The deputy arrested Mr. Reid and charged him with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant was processed at the scene and released in his own recognizance pending a January 23, 2017 appearance in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court to answer the charge.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00 for each charge.
