On October 17, 2024, at approximately 3:20 pm, a deputy was dispatched to a residence in the Town of Philipstown for a report of a larceny of political campaign signs. The signs were taken from the area of Route 9D near Mandalay Drive and were witnessed by a resident who reported it to the complainant. The witness provided a detailed description of the suspect, including the vehicle, and deputies were able to track it to a residence in the Village of Cold Spring.

They interviewed the suspect and subsequently arrested 59-year-old Lucas Gonze of Cold Spring and charged him with one count of Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor. He was processed and released with an appearance ticket returnable in the Town of Philipstown Court at a future date.

Also, on October 17, at approximately 10:20 pm, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and the Village of Brewster Police Department responded to a complaint of suspicious activity. The caller reported that drugs were possibly being sold from a vehicle at a location in the village. While investigating the complaint, law enforcement discovered that Michael Flynn, aged 52, of Brookfield, CT, possessed heroin and cocaine with the intent to sell them. Kristen Walsh, age 40, of the Village of Brewster, unlawfully possessed a controlled prescription medication. Members of the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit responded to the scene and adopted the case.

Flynn and Walsh were arrested and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility. Walsh was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and released with an appearance ticket. Flynn was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminally Possessing Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree.

On October 18, Flynn was arraigned in the Village of Brewster Court and ordered held without bail pending a future appearance in the Putnam County Court.
