Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Putnam Valley man on a charge of allegedly driving with a suspended license in that Town.
On February 24, 2017 at 12:05 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Alfred Pizzuto observed a car with a brake light out traveling along Oscawana Lake Road in Putnam Valley. The deputy pulled the car over and identified the driver as Mr. Sean W. Willkens, aged 27, of 37 Spruce Mountain Drive in Putnam Valley. The deputy ran a computer check on Mr. Willkens’ license and learned that it was reportedly suspended twice in 2016, by two different courts, for failing to answer a summons and for failing to pay a fine, respectively.
Deputy Pizzuto arrested Mr. Wilkens and charged him with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and ticketed him for traffic infractions. The defendant was released on his own recognizance pending a March 16th appearance in the Putnam Valley Justice Court, where he could face up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500.00 upon a conviction for the suspended driving charge.
