Putnam Valley Man Sold Marihuana to Undercover Deputy

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Putnam Valley man on charges of marijuana possession and sale.

Mr. Robert Laregina, Jr., aged 20, of 15 Perry Place, is accused of selling marijuana to an undercover deputy sheriff assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit (“NEU”). Members of the NEU took Mr. Laregina into custody at his residence on March 9th and charged him with criminal sale of marijuana in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor, and with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

The defendant was booked and released on his own recognizance pending a March 30th appearance in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court. If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00
