Yesterday evening, Sheriff Langley along with Captain Ortolano and Chief of Staff McKinney joined Ann Ellsworth of the @pnwwrc, DA Tendy, the NY State Police, @cacofputnamcountyny, the County Probation Department and the Kent, Carmel, Cold Spring and Brewster Police Departments to launch the Putnam Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center’s latest initiative - the formation of the Putnam County Domestic Violence and Sexual Violence Task Force.
The purpose of the task force will be to inform and make the public aware of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking and the problems and tragedies that often result from them. The goal is to empower individuals to seek help for themselves or others whom they feel may be in need of assistance.
The Task Force agencies will share statistics, aggregate data and perform educational awareness and training in the community including high schools, social and other organizations within the community who may have clients in need of services. There is help. For you, a family member, a friend. Please reach out. For further information, contact the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department at 845-225-4300, the Putnam Northern Westchester Women’s Center at 845-628-9284 or the Putnam County District Attorney at 845-808-1050.
