New Fairfield Woman Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. reports the arrest of a New Fairfield woman for Driving While Intoxicated.

On May 8, 2019, at approximately 1:01 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Francis McDonough observed a vehicle commit traffic violations on Fairfield Drive and Haviland Drive, in the Town of Patterson. Deputy McDonough initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Melissa Gorgilone, age 38, of New Fairfield, Connecticut, was intoxicated. Ms. Gorgilone was placed under arrest and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Ms. Gorgilone was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, having a Blood Alcohol Content of .18 or more (Misdemeanor), Operating a Motor Vehicle having a Blood Alcohol Content of .08 or more (Misdemeanor), and with Driving While Intoxicated, (Misdemeanor).

Ms. Gorglione was arraigned by the Honorable Justice Gregory Folchetti, of the Town of Southeast Justice Court, on behalf of the Town of Patterson Justice Court. Justice Folchetti released Ms. Gorgilone on her own recognizance, pending a future court date. Ms. Gorgilone is scheduled to appear in the Town of Patterson Justice Court, at a future date and time.
