Hyde Park Man Charged With Larceny From Employer

Sheriff Kevin J. McConville reports the investigation and subsequent arrest of an individual for stealing funds from his employer.

In July of 2023, a deputy was dispatched to a Philipstown business for a report of a larceny of funds by a former employee due to unauthorized purchases of a company credit card. The investigation was turned over to the Sheriff's Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) for further follow-up. Through numerous interviews and forensic analysis, it was determined that an employee, Joshua Queen, 42-years-old of Hyde Park, NY, had made over $12,000 in fraudulent and unauthorized purchases on a company credit card over a two-month period in early 2023 before being terminated.

On April 10, 2024, Mr. Queen turned himself in to Investigators and was charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, a Class D felony, and was arraigned in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court. Due to his prior felony convictions, he was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing. On April 11, he was arraigned in Putnam County Court and released on his own recognizance (ROR) with the condition that he report to Probation.
