Hope Not Handcuffs

Putnam County is proud to introduce Hope Not Handcuffs, a program which is an innovative approach to bring hope to those struggling with addiction. This program brings law enforcement and community organizations together in an effort to find viable treatment options for individuals seeking help. Tonight, the Hope not Handcuffs Hudson Valley Coordinators trained many community members to become volunteer Angels. These Angels will assist participants with paperwork and provide support until a treatment option is found. Three law enforcement departments were represented tonight; Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr., Kent Chief of Police Kevin Owens and Carmel Chief of Police Michael Cazzari will all be participating in this program. Legislators Nancy Montgomery and Toni Addinizio joined in with the training supervised by Kristin McConnell Executive Director The Prevention Council of Putnam and Susan Solomon of Drug Crisis in Our Backyard. #hopenothandcuffshv #putnamsheriffny #putnamcountyny #putnamsafeputnamstrong #teamputnam (Photos provides by Chief of Staff McKinney/group photo by Kristin McConnel)
