Putnam County Sheriff Kevin J. McConville reports the arrest of a Highland, NY man on narcotics possession and sale charges.
In 2023, an investigator assigned to the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) developed information that the suspect was involved in the sale of cocaine and prescription medication within Putnam County. The investigator was able to make contact with the subject and arrange for the purchase of both cocaine and prescription medication.
On July 16, 2024, the Honorable Judge Vercollone of the Town of Southeast Court issued an arrest warrant for said individual.
On September 21, 2024, Kevin J. Lamastro, age 32, was arrested on the outstanding arrest warrant. Lamastro was charged with the following felonies: one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree and one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree.
Lamastro was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Caruso of the Town of Patterson Court and was ROR'd pending a future court date in the Town of Southeast Court.
