Sheriff Kevin J. McConville reports the investigation of a motorcycle accident in Putnam Valley.
On April 13, 2024, at approximately 10:20 am, Deputies were dispatched to Barger St near Florence Rd for a one-vehicle accident where an operator, 67-year-old Tomas Blanco of Yorktown Heights, was found lying in the roadway after being ejected from his motorcycle. According to an eyewitness, Mr. Blanco had just made a left out of Florence Rd and was heading south when, for unknown reasons, he lost control, and the motorcycle landed on its side. Upon arrival of first responders, he was in and out of consciousness, and medical personnel decided to call for a medical helicopter for transport. Putnam Valley Fire Department members set up a landing zone on the Bryant Pond Rd overpass of the Taconic State Parkway for a LifeNet medical helicopter, and the patient was flown to Westchester Medical Center; his condition remains unknown.
