Yesterday, our partners at the Connecticut Intelligence Center made aware of an emerging issue where threatening emails were received at religious institutions and commercial locations. These emails all appeared identical and had similar traits to false threats received in other regions in past months.
Upon being made aware, we immediately dispatched our Intelligence assets and remained in touch with Federal and State authorities, closely monitoring the information as it developed. We are glad to report that at this time, all the emails appear to be a hoax and furthermore, no such emails were received in Putnam County.
