Today, we commemorate the memory of City of Poughkeepsie Detective John M. Falcone, who was murdered in the line of duty on February 18, 2011, during a domestic disturbance incident. Before serving in Poughkeepsie, Detective Falcone had distinguished himself as a Putnam County Sheriff's Cadet and a Town of Kent Police Officer.
Detective Falcone's ultimate sacrifice is a poignant reminder of the inherent risks law enforcement officers face in their duties. Though he may no longer be with us, his dedication and heroism will forever be in our hearts and minds. We honor his memory and express our deepest gratitude for his service and sacrifice.
