Putnam County Sheriff Kevin J. McConville reports the arrest of a Michigan man on weapons possession charges.
On June 2, 2025, at approximately 4:45 pm deputies were dispatched to a Southeast supermarket for a previous shoplifter who had returned to the store. While deputies were arresting the female subject, 41-year-old Mary Pincus Robles of Mahopac, NY, investigators noticed a male subject who was attempting to hide behind a vehicle in the parking lot. They approached the male subject, later identified as Cory J. Mugridge, 34 years old of Saint Clair, MI, who admitted to being the boyfriend of the shoplifter and had driven her to the store. Upon further questioning, they located a 9mm pistol in the vehicle along with ammunition. While attempting to place the subject under arrest, he began to resist and was ultimately taken into custody after a brief struggle.
Mugridge was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, a class C felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, a D felony, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, an E felony, and two class A misdemeanors of Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree. He was transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility and was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court on June 3 and was remanded to the jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
Pincus Robles was charged with Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of a Weapon, for having a stun gun. Both are class A misdemeanors. She was issued an Appearance Ticket and released for a future court date in the Town of Southeast.
