Arrest Made Following Internet Crimes Against Children Investigation

Acting Sheriff Brian Hess announces the arrest of 18-year-old Wanderson Jimenez-Pinto, a Southeast resident, following a lengthy investigation into child sexual abuse material.

The investigation began in July 2025, when the Putnam County Sheriff's Office received a referral from the New York State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

On October 2, 2025, Putnam County Sheriff's Office investigators, with the assistance of special agents and investigators from Homeland Security Investigations - New York's Hudson Valley office, executed a search warrant at a residence in Southeast. Multiple electronic devices were seized and examined, revealing numerous images and files constituting child sexual abuse material. As a result, Jimenez-Pinto was arrested and charged with nine counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class D felony and nine counts of Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child, class E felony.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Kent Court and was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility where bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
