28-Year-Old Arrested After Fleeing a Knife-Point Robbery in Connecticut

Putnam County Sheriff Kevin J. McConville reports the arrest of a subject who fled from a robbery in Connecticut.

On September 30, 2024, at approximately 3:45 pm, members of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office received a description of a vehicle and suspect that had just been involved in a knife-point robbery in New Milford, CT.

The robbery occurred when the suspect followed a victim home after they retrieved a FedEx package delivery of an Apple watch at their parent's residence. The suspect attempted to steal the package at knife-point, making several attempts to stab the victim.

At approximately 5:10 pm, members of the Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) spotted the vehicle heading westbound on Interstate 84 in the Town of Patterson. They initiated a traffic stop with assistance from road patrol deputies and the New York State Police. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, 28-year-old Dalin Gonzalez-Marte of Philadelphia, PA, was positively identified by the victim as the individual who had robbed them. A knife and stolen property were recovered from the vehicle.

Gonzalez-Marte was transported to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, where members of the New Milford Police Department interviewed him. A warrant was issued in Connecticut for Robbery in the First Degree, Larceny in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Restraint. Gonzalez-Marte was arraigned in Putnam County Court on October 1 as a fugitive from justice and was ordered held without bail pending his extradition to Connecticut.
