Information For Victims Of Crimes

As a crime victim you may be eligible for compensation from the New York State Crime Victims Board for items such as: lost wages, medical expenses, counseling, funeral expenses, essential personal property, occupational rehabilitation, moving expenses or crime scene clean-up.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and the Putnam County District Attorney’s Office can help protect you against harassment and intimidation.

Compensation applications, informative brochures and information cards on crime victim compensation may be found in every police station and at any location in New York State where a crime may be reported.
