Beginning in October, the Citizen Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course will be offered to the public on a monthly basis.

Tree of Life Synagogue

My heart goes out to all those at the Tree of Life Synagogue and to the families of those whose lives were taken in a senseless act of hate and violence. May their memories be blessings.

The members of the Sheriff’s Department conduct regular security checks on all places of worship to ensure everyone’s safety. When events such as what took place at the Tree of Life Synagogue take place the Sheriff’s Department takes the appropriate course of action and increases patrols at all places of worship and reaches out to members of various faiths to provide any assistance they may need during these heightened times.

I encourage everyone in our community should they hear something or see something of concern please reach out to law enforcement and inform them.

According to drug enforcement experts, it only takes a grain of fentanyl to cause a deadly reaction. Afterwards Sheriff was interviewed by WAMC Northeast Public Radio Allison Dunne about The need for financial assistance from the federal government to fund law enforcement with the Opioid crisis. We need to end this epidemic as one death is one too many.
